Presented by: Dr. Art Graesser, Professor, Department of Psychology and the Institute for Intelligent Systems at the University of Memphis, and Honorary Research Fellow at Oxford

Problem-solving and reasoning are interwoven with reading, writing, science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and other competencies. It is therefore important to understand the theoretical components of problem solving and reasoning. This webinar will identify the problem- solving skills and competencies in the PIAAC and PISA assessments and describe how these competencies play a fundamental role in 21st century skills, including digital technologies, communication, and social collaboration.
Dr. Art Graesser has been involved with the problem-solving component of three international assessments: Programme for the International Assessment of Adult Competencies for Problem Solving in Technology-rich Environments (PIAAC-PTE, http://www.oecd.org/site/piaac/), Programme for International Student Assessment for Problem Solving 2012 (PISA-Problem Solving 2012, http://www.oecd.org/pisa/), and PISA Collaborative Problem Solving 2015.
