Intertwined with cultural, feminist, postcolonial, queer, and sexuality studies (just some of the relevant fields), gender studies foregrounds questions of humanity, identity, intelligibility, and legitimacy. Considering gender alongside discourses of love heightens the urgency of such questions.

This project aims at an interdisciplinary exchange of ideas and perspectives in order to understand the interaction and the interconnection between the concepts of love and gender; and whether, when, how, and in what ways the two concepts conceive, shape, and affect one another.
