As part of the series of activities by the Community of Practice on Adult Learning in the frame of its IPA Mutual Learning Programme, the European Training Foundation (ETF) is organising a workshop on the topic of Adults’ Basic Skills – Models, Modules and Trainers. The event will take place at the ETF premises in Turin, 3-5 May 2010 and will be open to invited experts from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Kosovo (as defined in UNSCR 1244), the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia and Turkey. The expert community has generally agreed to exchange experience and work on common challenges in the areas of (i) qualifications, programmes and certification; (ii) adult trainers’ training, and (iii) the issue of how to motivate unskilled or low skilled adults for training. The purpose of this workshop is to discuss possible models, modules and the training of teachers for adults’ basic skills programmes and to prepare for country research into the reasons for non-participation in adult learning.
Objectives:
